The last week of CIS 701:
Q000: CIS 701 "Finals"
1. Bring your folder and Start Disk on Mon
or Tues mornings 7:30 - 10:30 Aug. 4 - 5 to K-302 for grading.
2. Sign each project that you did in the upper right-hand
corner, signifying that you did the work.
3. Put all Projects in the Viewbinder, replacing,
where possible, the model projects with your projects. Organize and
prepare the Viewbinder to the point of its being a World-Class Portfolio that
highlights your work. This is required for an "A". There is a model
"A" notebook on display in class. Where possible, use color, sheet
protectors, index tabs. This portfolio belongs to you and can be used for
employment and college interviews, documenting your I.T. skills.
3. I have a program that grades you Start-Disk
quizzes. Your Quiz printouts should be in the back of the book.
4. Using the blank column on GRADE.DOC, write down the
points earned next to each project, and sum them at the bottom. Use an
extra sheet of paper if nec.
5. To earn an "A", complete at least (2) Excel
Projects.
6. Quality is our Standard. Your work has to be
quality and have Presentation-Quality appearance to earn credit.
This is key to success. This means no cheap folders, crinkled paper
stuffed in the notebook. Better to take the time to fix it before turning
it in This work represents you, and you get to keep the Portfolio.
7. Continuous Quality Improvement and Innovation --
since this is our credo, I invite you to continue working projects on the
page, learn all that you can. The next classes in Sequence are C++
Programming, Network Administration and Web Design - Internet Programming
(CIS 757).
8. The goals of this course are: Quality, Technology
Skills, Empowerment, and Problem-Solving. The more evidence that you
show that you have learned this, the higher your grade. Be well.
You are always welcome to use the stations in my classroom. Prof. A.
