The burden of keeping in CONTACT IS YOURS.  BE SURE THAT YOU EMAIL ME ONCE PER WEEK WITH YOUR email address, backup email address, and phone number.  BE SURE THAT EVERY CLASS DAY YOU CALL 213.763.7268 for messages, and check your email, and look for new a-grams ON THIS SITE.  TO GET AN "A" OR "B", YOU MUST PRESENT CONCLUSIVE PROOF TO ME THAT YOU HAVE DONE THE WORK, AND IT IS IN YOUR PORTFOLIO, WHICH I WILL ASK YOU TO SHOW ME IN PERSON OR FED-EX TO ME, BY ARRANGEMENT.   AGAIN, THE BURDEN OF PROOF IS UP TO YOU.  YOU MUST CONVINCE ME THAT YOU HAVE DONE THE WORK TO THE QUALITY STANDARD TO RECEIVE AN "A" OR "B"!   (do you understand what I am talking about?)

Because I try to practice CONTINUOUS QUALITY IMPROVEMENT and INNOVATION (CQII),   this course has evolved to the level that it can be taken OnLine with no or little personal contact w. the Instructor.   From a tech point-of-view, this is progress, making it transportable;  from a Quality of Instruction p-o-v,  it raises concerns about ensuring that you, the customer, receives sufficient 'guided learning' to in this subject that is so critical to your education and career.   Flat out,  the standards of this course -- skills in using Word, Excel, Internet Browsers, graphics editors, etc -- have to be met,  else we fail the "quality standard."

We learn by doing in a structured environment.  You need to run the applications software listed above to pass this course.  You need to meet certain performance-levels to pass this course.  You need to be 'interacting in a virtual and visual environment.   (Also, you should have got the significance of 'hyper Bell Curve' -- the relationship of optimal technology, performance and quality -- email me for 50opt points if you 'get' this.).

Meeting this performance-levels or demonstrating your skills in the skills areas in a Virtual environment, meant that I had to develop new "teaching-guiding-testing-tracking" software which the quiz above --

You take the quizzes by actually opening up EXCEL or WORD on your desktop, and trying-testing-interacting with the program while you are researching answers to the questions of the quiz.   You will have 2 windows open, and switch back-and-forth as you are involved in  "learning-doing-testing". Thus, hopefully, you understand why these quizzes are vital to your education, and why max effort should be expended to complete them at a high level.

There are many lessons on my site to help you learn these topics.   I expect that these will be done also. These lessons will be downloaded, modified from the original, done to a world-class presentation quality level, signed, and put in a viewbinder (portfolio) that I can authenticate during the last week of class.  If you are out-of-the area, I will have you Fed-Ex to me, and hold your grade until I see it.   It is about verification.  and if you think about it, I am holding these standards for you and your benefit.  Comprende?
