GRADES

There are 20 - 30 assignments + final project (33% of the grade). Philosophy: continually perform work at the 100% level. Students will work logic and critical thinking exercises and build Personal Inventory of Computer Skills (handout). Assignments benchmarked against standard set by the instructor. "A" is given for meeting or exceeding that standard and based on total points.

Ability to use the following programs / applications to perform standard work. IMPORTANCE of INTERNET.

DOS Basic Commands

WORD Word Processing, Spell Checker, Graphics Workshop, Link with Excel.

EXCEL Budget, Payroll Sheets, linked, Charts & Graphs

WINDOWS Write, Paintbrush, Configuring, Clipboard, Utilities, Windows Operations. Photo Shop.

INTERNET Send/Rec Email, SURF WEB, HOMEPAGES, Fundamentals, Telecomm Overview, assist with Hotmail / Create Webpages

OUTLINE OF ACTIVITIES

There Are 16 Chapters in text. Text should be read, & used as a resource. 3 Hrs lecture time per chapter. 55 quizzes on N: Drive (K-307)

(6) 3-1/2" High Density Disks. (1) 3-Ring View-Binder. Must have by end of 1st week. Lab Fee.

Students will use the Personal Computer and the INTERNET as tools to solve business-related problems.
