Enabling Objectives:  Understand  Physical Start and End Positions (positioning symbol and begin and end positions);  Time Start and End Positions (Frames);  Tweening.

1   START FLASH ... DESKTOP AREA SHOULD APPEAR
2   CREATE SYMBOL --

2A.  USE TEXT OR OTHER TOOL.

2B.   CLICK 'INSERT' -- CONVERT TO SYMBOL.  USE 'GRAPHIC'  (CNTL 'L'  TO  DISPLAY LIBRARY OF SYMBOLS.)   EXAMPLE USING TEXT:

 

            

 [ AT THIS POINT, 'SYMBOL 1' HAS BEEN CREATED; ONLY SYMBOLS CAN BE USED IN FLASH PROGRAMS. ]

2C.  Drag symbol to its Physical-End Position (where you want it to be at the End-Frame Time.) If Symbol is in a BOX, click outside the box to remove it.  

2D.  RIGHT-CLICK ON MOTION BOX AREA (just below area that looks like a ruler that marks off frame numbers.) -- CLICK  'INSERT KEYFRAME'  (Creating a range of frames as shown.  End-Frame is marked.)

2E. Right-Click Motion-Bar Area;  Click 'CREATE MOTION TWEENING'  (Ask yourself what happens at this point?)

2F.  DRAG TIME LINE (red box with line under it) TO FRAME 1 (TIME-START).

2G.  DRAG SYMBOL TO PHYSICAL-START POSITION.

(at this point, Time-start and time-end;  frame-start and frame-end have been defined.  'Tweening' has been enabled. You are ready to demonstrate Flash Tweening!

(Note Symbol 'ABC'  is in motion ....  both the beginning and end form were defined, and 'tweening' creates the 'morphing' between the two.)

2H.  PRESS <Enter>  TO SEE MOTION!

3  INNOVATE.  HACK WITH COLOR, SYMBOLS, ADD LEVELS, ADD MUSIC, EXPERIMENT WITH ANIMATED GIFs, MOVIE FILES ... TAKE OFF FROM HERE!
