CIS 701:

There is something that I need to talk about.  I have noticed that some students --not that many,thankfully -- have what I call a "McD's attitude -- hot, fast, light, and forget about it attitude about studying.  They miss the "fun of learning".   Learning is not a "chore" -- it is your lifelong friend!  Learning is how you will have to live your life in this fast-moving, picking-up-speed-society;  Lifelong Learning is a fact of life.  Somehow, by 'hacking' away on a subject, I develop a close, personal relationship with the subject. It could be called "Zen" or "at-one".  This is the level that I want you to reach!  I want to do things  3 times, then 7 times more, improving each time, researching, adding, innovating, perfecting!  Getting into it!

Add "critical thinking" -- I mean go deep, go deeper than you could before.  Dig into it.   Find out, how the construction of overlapping planks in Viking Boats created Air Bubbles so the vessels  appeared to "skim" over the top of the water.  Think about this on the molecular level,  the level of cutting transportation costs, and the level of how superior tools extended one's reach.  Go deep.  Don't skim like the Viking Ships!  100viking.

Taking charge of your learning = "Empowerment"  =  we are 'in charge' of our lives, and the person 'in-charge' can re-write the 'script for his / her life.'!  Write a paragraph of 'empowerment' for 100empowerment points.

1.  The SLIDSHOW assignment above also applies to you.  Also, add your own slideshow to your pages, 50 points per slide and text up to 500 pts, xxss. Get commercial if you can, and make a presentation that communicates.  Can you add animated gif's?  Find out.  Could you insert a video -- look for answers. Think Visual!  

2. Earning an "A" -- you must have at least 2000 points PLUS a website that contains a number of features and is linked to my page.
