1.   This is a quick way to learn Windows and Web Technical Vocabulary:   Open https://auciello.tripod.com/vocab858.doc  then minimize (or tile) it, so that you have quick access to it.  Then,  I suggest,  browse the list, top to bottom, for 10 terms that you think you need to learn.  (Use your judgement on this -- pick the terms that you think you need!  -- You can't go far wrong:  They are all helpful.)   Then, in the space provided below,  explain the definition in your own words,  paraphrasing the given meaning.   A side benefit of this is that you become familiar with the way that Web and Windows Applications writers work!

Use a format, shown below,  of  the term in Capital letters, followed by your rewrite of the definition in correct English format.   Example:

Definition from vocab858.doc

ACTIVEX  A set of technologies that allows software components to interact with one another in a networked environment, regardless of the language in which the components were created.

Rewrite:

ACTIVEX --  a programming technology enabling creation of powerful scripts that can be embedded in Internet Explorer.   These scripts, such as JavaScript, JScript, VBScript,  allow use of multi-media objects, among others,  within HTML.    When an application containing ActiveX is run,  a warning similar to: "This program contains ActiveX components ... Click here to allow it to run" is displayed.  This enables video and music players to operate.
